Asian Mineral Resources Co.,Ltd. was established in 1984 with promotional support from the Board of Investment of Thailand. The key business activities are the mining and processing of industrial minerals. The company has established mineral deposits supplying barytes, talc, dolomite and calcium carbonate. In turn the company processes these various minerals at the main factory complex in Saraburi province, north of Bangkok.

Mining
The company sources the key raw materials from a number of mines located mainly in Thailand but also from neighboring countries. For instance, for barytes supply the company draws material from up to 7 different mines, depending on grade and volumes required. The buying power allows Asian Mineral Resources to exert considerable influence on non company owned mines to conform to strict guidelines as to quality and reliability of output.
 
     
 
Processing Plant

The key processing complex is located about 20km from the provincial capital of Saraburi, about 110 km. north of Bangkok. This plant area is located on 60,000 m2 of land and incorporates.

This plant predominantly handles what are defined as soft minerals and utilizes roller mills to process the minerals to a range of milled products. In addition to the roller mills the especially designed classifying circuits provide a range of particle size options, as fine as average 5 microns. In 2011 additional plant will be brought on stream to produce even finer grades of high whiteness barytes.

The products are packaged in quality packaging including; polywoven bags, jumbo bags and kraft paper. When requested wooden pallets can be supplied.

 
Quality Management

From the onset a key business driver has been tight and thorough quality management, predominantly in the company’s own laboratory. From time to time external laboratories are used to conduct specialized testing. The focus being to provide consistent quality products to a diverse range of clients.

The Quality Assurance (QA) process while not as yet certified to ISO is comprehensive and includes specified sampling procedures, testing to various international standards, recording of results related to production output and retaining samples for extended periods. This provides trace-ability in the QA system with all goods shipped.. The ISO9001:2008 certification is planned to be completed by early 2011.
 
Distribution / Logistics

The company arranges many shipments in containers via Bangkok Port and of course sales by truck direct to domestic clients. Also in place are systems to unload ocean going vessels with break-bulk cargoes or loose bulk ore. In this case it is usual to shift product from the bulk vessels via a river port about 40 km. from the plant by barge.

The container shipping from Bangkok allows the company to service its clients worldwide.
 
Marketing & Sales

Asian Mineral Resources has an extensive network of often exclusive agents & distributors to service many of the markets areas of the world. In some cases business is conducted directly with large consumers. Exports are a key business focus, approx 70% of output. Markets served not only include the Asia Pacific region but also include markets as far away as Scandinavia, Africa & the Middle East.

Annual sales are approximately USD7-8million for Asian Mineral Resources (AMR) alone.
 
Management

The head office & marketing teams are located in central Bangkok where there is ready access to shipping documents and the banking system. Accounting and financial control are also managed at the Bangkok head office. The registered capital is Bht.30 million.

Total employees is currently at 200 persons, approximately 25 at the administration office in Bangkok, the balance are based at the processing plant in Saraburi, Songkhla and the Ceraminas factory."
